Health research is made possible thanks to the involvement of individuals, organizations, and companies that choose to support it. Urbinium has decided to join the Friends of IDIBGI, helping to promote the health and well-being of our society through research. An inspiring perspective on how the business community can become a driving force for change and a key ally of science rooted in the local territory. We speak with Manel Reina Moreno, CEO of Urbinium.
- What is your mission?
At Urbinium, we are a consultancy specialized in advising on the purchase, sale, and rental of real estate assets, both commercial and residential. Our mission is to generate value for all parties involved, helping our clients make informed strategic decisions with a sustainable, ethical, and long-term vision. We achieve this through deep market knowledge and a strong commitment to personalized service.
- What makes you a socially responsible company?
We understand business activity as a tool for positive transformation. Our CSR is based on commitment to the local area, respect for the environment, and the promotion of collective well-being. We are a certified B Corp company, which entails a high standard of positive social and environmental impact. Additionally, we have recently obtained ISO 9001 certification, reflecting our commitment to quality and continuous improvement. We promote initiatives ranging from waste reduction to collaborating with social and health projects like IDIBGI’s.
- Why did you decide to make a donation to IDIBGI?
Because we believe that health is a fundamental right, and research is a key tool to guarantee it. We feel connected to the territory and believe that contributing to local scientific development is a coherent way to give back to society part of what we receive as a company. Supporting IDIBGI is a commitment to a more prepared, more aware, and healthier society.
- What motivated you to choose IDIBGI as an organization to support?
IDIBGI represents a rigorous, ambitious, yet locally rooted way of conducting research. We were convinced by its track record, its real impact on improving people's health, and its ability to generate knowledge from Girona to the world. Moreover, we share values such as transparency, collaboration, and positive impact.
- How do you see the importance of health research?
Health research not only saves lives, but also improves quality of life, drives innovation, and strengthens social cohesion. It is a strategic investment that contributes to a more resilient society. As we've seen in recent years, having strong research structures can make all the difference when facing major collective challenges.
- Which values of your company align with the world of research and health?
Rigor, service-oriented mindset, responsibility, and long-term vision. Research and the business world can and should share these values. At Urbinium, we work with a humanistic vision, understanding that behind every real estate operation there are people, needs, and contexts. This is also the vision that guides major health research projects.
- How do you believe biomedical research can positively impact our region?
It can be a driver of economic and social development, generate skilled jobs, attract talent, and put Girona on the international innovation map. But above all, it can transform lives: help improve diagnosis, treat more effectively, and prevent more intelligently. As a company rooted in the territory, we are proud to be part of this value chain.
