Main lines of research

Improve the detection and management of patients with intermediate cardiovascular risk and the detection of CV disease in the asymptomatic phase and analyse the cost effectiveness of interventions for the prevention of cardiovascular disease.

Strategic objectives
    • Analyse the role of emerging risk factors and asymptomatic atherosclerosis, as well as the comorbidity of the patient in predicting cardiovascular risk.
    • Develop cardiovascular risk functions adapted to specific subpopulation groups (diabetes, patients with family history of vascular disease, obesity).
    • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of different interventions for prevention and control of arteriosclerotic disease in primary care using SIDIAP.
    • Analyse the role of CV risk factors and their monitoring in the incidence of dementia.
